Many stories from the Bible take place in Israel. It is the birthplace of many religions, including Christianity and Judaism, the most important religions of this time period. Jerusalem, the holy capital of the world at this time, was found in Israel. The Hebrew Bible was written here, and also the Ark of the Covent was kept in a temple in Israel (1:1). Israel had extreme religious importance to Biblical stories and religion.
